And next to it, a swing set built by my father. My parents always told me to protect that little dogwood, because it just so happens to be the official tree of my home state, Virginia. I always thought of that tree as special, sacred even. If leaves would fall from its branches, I assumed we were going to get in trouble. Nonetheless, I spent a lot of time out there swinging next to that tree as it watched over me, listening to my thoughts. As an only child, I spent a lot of time by myself. Thinking, dreaming, watching the world of my backyard unfold, day after day. So I chose this collection of stories to be named after the place which holds my roots. I aim to capture the feeling of a place, not just how it looks, but how it moves, breathes, and connects us. I’m drawn to reimagining what travel content can be. Turning the traditional travel vlog inside out to create something more immersive, more intentional, and more human. Whether it’s chasing golden light in a quiet mountain town or documenting the energy of a new city, I’m always searching for the moments that make a place unforgettable. For me, it’s about exploration, of landscapes, of people, and of perspective. Climbing higher, going farther, and creating work that not only looks beautiful, but makes you feel something.
